| I
was born and raised in Parry Sound and spent every summer at
the family cottage in McDougall. After graduation from Parry
Sound High School, I moved to Toronto to pursue my post secondary
education. The next 15 years were spent working in the insurance
industry. During this time my wife and I were fortunate enough
to start our family. Our children are now pursuing their own careers and post secondary education..
Although Toronto was our mailing address
for 15 years, we always considered the Parry Sound area as our
home. We built our seasonal residence in McDougall and spent
our free time enjoying Georgian Bay.
In 1992 we upgraded our seasonal home
to a permanent residence and moved our family back to the North.
At this same time we opened our insurance business in Parry
Sound.
After serving six satisfying years on
McDougall Council, I decided in the fall of 2003 to run for
the office of Reeve. My background allows me to bring the following
attributes to the Reeve’s chair:
- Permanent and Seasonal Resident Perspective
- Business and Family Style of Government
These are challenging times for the Municipal
Governments and I welcome the opportunity to work with the new
council to ensure that the Municipality of McDougall continues
to be "A Great Place To Live and Visit."
