Building Department
The building department encompasses the overseeing of the requirements of the Ontario Building Code (O.B.C.) and those of the Municipal Comprehensive Zoning By-law as they relate to buildings.
This covers reviewing the permissible uses and the limiting parameters for the different uses on a property as they relate to the Municipal Comprehensive Zoning By-law, once all of the pertinent information has been submitted in writing.
It also reviews that minimum standards have been met prior to and for the actual construction of a project through the (O.B.C.) Ontario Building Code.
This site attempts to outline the required information to assist in preparing and submitting a full comprehensive project proposal for permit review and a guide to subsequent construction inspections as they relate to the Ontario Building Code and the Municipal Zoning By-law.
